Can I just say, I beleive the next 4 yrs, and even the next 4 weeks are likely to truly be in Nazi Germany territory. I used ot take comfort in how truly dumb a certain orange blob is, but a historian friend tells me Adolf was just as bad, but even the dumbness can be overcome with overwhelming evilness. we are facing that, i am sure of it. and for some people, especially, those with foreign (hispanic featuress and accents) those with black and brown skin. queer people, poor people of all sorts, things will likely get very ugly.
The thing is , most of the handwringingn and moaning i hear is from my fellow lower to middle middleclass straight white folk. Please dont say things like it has never been this bad in the USA. As recently as the 1960s it was for Black folks, all the way back thru jimcrow, right into the antebellum america, including northern states like Mass and NY. In the far west, being brown skinned, mexican, native american, of chinese (or looked enough like chinese to white people, so anyone from the far east.) you could be robbed, beaten killed (most folks who were hung for horse thievery or cattle rustling were brown skinned folks.
things are bad and about to get seriously worse, but if you are a white person who owns your own home, has a pretty decent job, you are not going to suffer the way millions of americnas have suffered for 100s of years. Yet they resisted, they fought back and all the while they cooked and sang and danced and believed in a future that was better than they had any reason hope for, so buck up, lets fight this mess, but whatever you do, dont feel sorry for your self, neither you nor i have any idea what black and brown and queer people went thru for a VERY long time.
Lets get rid of this tin pot, lets not forget which of our neighbors supported this. DO NOT let them off the hook. but be brave and lets fight for each other. together we are stronger that the weak minded immoral ;lot trying to take over….
