when it comes to immigrants, documented and other wise. here is a little story of a bit of my life in the past year.
Last august (2024) we found out i have a pretty serious stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer. I was pretty sick the last two weeks of July, but we didnt know what was wrong, so i spent the first week of august in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
During that week, i interacted with just over 40 people from nurses, to doctors, nurses aides, akitchen staff, sanitation workers and staff who were not medically trained but were very helpful in keeping things moving smoothly in a hospital.
of those 40+ people, exactly 2 of them were white. ALL of the staff did not simply treat me ina professional manner. they did that, but they also offered caring and compassionate care. even though i am an older white guy with a distinctive southern accent (someone who might be easily mistaken for a racsit hateful trumper), they treated me more like i was their father or grandfather. I assume they were all documented, but whether they were or not. i would much rather live next to shop with, work with and be taken care of by any of these folks than the hateful whyte sooutherners who want to send them packing!
