Panacea for Everything

ANTHONY WATKINS – Tallahassee, FL, USA

Long time ago, when I was a boy and the interstate system was still being built, every town of any size had a nice little roadside inn. Over the past 50-60 years so many of them have either closed, been destroyed or repurposed into something other than a motel.

Most of the ones that survive are sad, poorly kept, cheap motels typical for weekly rentals. All of the ones that still exist fill a niche, but it is so wonderful to see a place like Panacea restored to the glory of the 1950s-1960s, mixing the charm of the old with the pleasantries and modern conveniences of today!

Panacea, Florida is a nice slice of old coastal Florida, not a cute tourist trap, but real, still connecting to its commercial fishing heritage with lots of beaches and fishing opportunities for the visitors as well as a bit of interesting things to do inland.

You will not be disappointed in an overnight, a weekend, nor even a week at Panacea, and there is certainly no better place to stay to experience it than this lovely little motel.
