Evergreen

ELIZABETH WEILAND ABRAMS

The Thinking Man
put down his hand
down from his chin
to the ground
to find the first
fallen snowflake

I find myself walking
sideways from the
winter cold to come
So down the rabbit
hole I go
to avoid it

swirling down
underground
creepy crawlers
demons found
further down
I venture

evergreen is
quickly becoming
my favorite color
it was sky blue
moss moist and lush
Can it birth a rebirth?
